Moldovan president meets Lithuanian counterpart in Munich

Chisinau, 17 February /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has had a meeting with President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda, a good friend of Moldova, during the Munich Security Conference, the presidential press service reported.

„I discussed with President Nauseda the security situation in the region and I appreciated the dialogue between our countries in more sectors,’’ the Moldovan head of state said.

At the same time, Maia Sandu noted that there was a good cooperation in the defence and domestic affairs sectors. The Moldovan president also praised the Lithuanians’ contribution to the consolidation of the capacities of the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry.

„I thanked Mr. President Nauseda and the Lithuanian partners for the support provided in our process of accession to the European Union,’’ the Moldovan president added.
