Moldovan, American officials broach current issues

Chisinau, February 18 /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu met at the Munich Security Conference with Antony J. Blinken, Secretary of State of the United States of America.

According to the presidential press service, the discussions covered several important topics, including security challenges.

"We talked about the security challenges we and the entire region face, but also about the efforts made by the Chisinau authorities to strengthen the rule of law, modernize the economy and ensure the security of our citizens," said Maia Sandu.

At the same time, the head of state thanked the United States for the comprehensive assistance we receive. "We are grateful to the American people for their consistent contribution to the development of democracy, public institutions and for the support they have given us in these complicated times to become more economically and energetically resilient, but also more efficient in the field of security", Maia Sandu said.

On February 17-19, Maia Sandu participates in Munich Security Conference. During the international event in Germany, the agenda includes meetings with state and government heads, high European officials, and some heads of international organizations.
