Moldovan president approached security, anti-corruption measures, energy resilience in Munich

Chisinau, February 18 /MOLDPRES/- On the first day of the Munich Security Conference, President Maia Sandu participated in a round table dedicated to the experience of various states and international organizations in combating corruption, an event where she spoke about the commitment of the Moldovan authorities to eliminate this scourge from our country, sanctioning all those who embezzled public money, the presidential press service has reported.
In order to combat this phenomenon, the head of state called for closer cooperation between the investigative and legal bodies of different European states.
On Friday, the head of state also discussed with Frans Timmermans, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission about what is being done for the Republic of Moldova to secure its energy sector, including by switching to green energy. In this context, Maia Sandu expressed gratitude for the support of European partners who helped us to diversify our energy sources.
Also on the first day of this event, Maia Sandu met with Svenja Schulze, Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, and a group of MPs from the CDU/CSU ruling coalition in the German Legislature. The head of state thanked the German partners for their help in overcoming the current crises, especially the energy one, but also for the Resolution on the continuation of support for the Republic of Moldova adopted by the German Bundestag last December.
