Pillars used for construction of Vulcanesti-Chisinau power line subjected to testings

Chisinau, 21 February /MOLDPRES/ - The pillars of the R-60 type, which are to be set for the construction of the Vulcanesti-Chisinau power line of 400 KV have been tested in terms of resistance. According to conclusions by the experts’ team, the pillars meet all technical requirements and will resist the weather conditions specific for Moldova.   

The expertise was carried out on 6-21 February 2023 at the station of testing pillars from the Structural Engineering Research Centre (SERC) of Chennai, India.  

The next phase of the project’s implementation is the completion of the power line and the starting of the construction works.   

The Vulcanesti-Chisinau overhead power line of 400 KV will be constructed out of three types of pillars: R-NS, R-30 and R-60. Thus, the R-NS and R-30 pillars were tested in last September and December, respectively, and the one of the R-60 type was the last type which was to be tested.      

The building of the Vulcanesti-Chisinau overhead power line of 400 KV is part of the project on development of the electric energy system (PDSE), financed by the World Bank and implemented by the Moldovan government, through the Consolidated Unit for the Implementation and Monitoring of Projects in the Field of Energy (UCIPE). Besides the construction of the power line, the project provides for the modernization of two power substations and strengthening the control and record system for the Moldelectrica state enterprise. The project will be implemented during 2022-2024.
