Moldovan cabinet approves procedures governing balloon and glider operation

Chisinau, February 22 /MOLDPRES/- Government today approved a decision on granting of flight crew licenses for balloons and the transposition into national legislation of the EU gliding operation regulation, as well as for the granting of flight crew licenses for gliders, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

By approving and implementing the draft, a more simplified regulatory framework will be established and proportionate to the risks and complexity of air operations with gliders/balloons. Since these aircraft involve less complex operations, the risks are also lower.

"The draft will ensure a high level of safety and, at the same time, reduce the regulatory burden, especially for pilots/glider/balloon operators", says Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Lilia Dabija.

Therefore, in the case of the introduction of this set of rules and procedures, there is certainty that in the Republic of Moldova there will be all the necessary premises for a favorable development of the field related to the operation of balloons and gliders.
