Recean government suggests nine reasons for which investors should choose Moldova

Chisinau, 22 February /MOLDPRES/ - Over 200 companies from Moldova, Romania, Poland, as well as representatives of the business environment from other states have participated in an Economic Forum, titled, Investments, Development, European Integration. The event was organized under the auspices of the Royal Family of Romania and with the support of the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau. Prime Minister Dorin Recean, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu and Prince Radu of Romania attended the forum, the parliament’s communication and protocol department has reported.        

In his speech, PM Dorin Recean reconfirmed the cabinet’s commitment for improving the investment climate in Moldova. He noted that the authorities would create an efficient mechanism of providing the support needed for the business people who want to develop their business in Moldova. 

„The rapprochement between the government and the business environment is quite important and we want to have a partnership based on permanent and open dialogue. There are enough reasons for which foreign investors should come to Moldova, such as the access to the EU market, due to the Free Trade Agreement, as well as to capital markets,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.   

Among the advantages which, according to the PM, Moldova has for investors, there is the access to human resources, including the ones trained within the dual education syllabi, as well as institutions’ efficiency. Dorin Recean noted that one of the cabinet’s priorities regarded the development of an as efficient as possible public service and close to the citizens.     

Another advantage of Moldova would be the existence of platforms which facilitate the access of foreign business people, such as Free Economic Zones, as well as the initiation of the process of economy’s digitalization, which will facilitate the interaction between economic agents. Also, the prime minister said that, in the next years, big infrastructure projects would be carried out and the government would extend the access to financing for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which will help business people who need services and products on the value chain.    

Attending the event, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, stressed that the authorities remained focused on the creation of European conditions for investors: ‘’We work day by day to speed up the reforms needed by foreign entrepreneurs and the ones of Moldova. We make effort to establish an intense dialogue with those who create jobs and to make the business activity easier and more profitable. We invite you to invest in Moldova with the same confidence you do this in Romania or Poland.’’    

For his part, Prince Radu emphasized that Romania would further contribute to the economic connection with Moldova. ‘’Business people have confidence in Moldova, in Romania and in the firm aspiration we have – to live in a democratic and prosperous world,’’ Price Radu said.         

The Chisinau economic forum is held on 22-23 February. Today, the participants in the event discussed the impact of the accession to EU on Moldova’s economy, as well as the development of the Moldova-Romania commercial and economic relations.
