Government approves ratification of Association Agreement of Moldova to EU for Health programme

Chisinau, February 28 /MOLDPRES/- The Government approved following the proposal of the Ministry of Health a draft law on ratifying the Agreement between Moldova and the European Union on the country's association with the EU for Health programme, signed in Brussels on 7 February 2023, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

Joining this program will allow Moldova to participate in all launched project contests, which will contribute to strengthening the capacities of the health system, by improving its resilience and the efficiency of resources, including to increase the level of preparedness for emergency situations. This program will also improve the capacity to prevent diseases, especially cancer, strengthen the health workforce, promote digital transformation and facilitate access to medicines and medical devices.

The program budget for 2021-2027 worth 5.3 billion euros is for health entities and non-governmental organizations in EU countries or third countries associated with the program. The Republic of Moldova will have access to financing on an equal footing with EU member states.
