United Nations Development Programme to back Moldova's modernization agenda

Chisinau, 28 February /MOLDPRES/ - The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will continue backing Moldova on the dimensions of peace and security, economic recovery, green transition, digital transformation and rapprochement with the European Union. Prime Minister Dorin Recean and UNDP acting Resident Representative Andrea Cuzyova discussed the support for Moldova’s development and modernization, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
According to the PM, a priority in the UNDP-Moldova cooperation is the strengthening of the capacity of coordinating and elaboration of policies based on evidence and the use of data for optimizing the management of resources, enhancing citizens’ participation, as well as the working out of instruments due to better target citizens’ needs.
For her part, Andrea Cuzyova stressed that UNDP would focus on the enforcement of the model of poles of growth and economic specialization, which has the potential to stimulate the economic development locally. Also, decision-makers will support the modernization of the labour market and the combating of the informal labour; at the same time, UNDP will back the innovation and technological transfer for a sustainable development.
