Moldovan deputy PM for reintegration meets head of EU Border Assistance to Moldova and Ukraine

Chisinau, 1 March /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian today had a meeting with Head of the European Union Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM) Slawomir Pichor, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.   

Deputy PM Oleg Serebrian informed about the present situation in the process of negotiations on the Transnistrian settlement. He highlighted the current government’s priorities in the field of Moldova’s reintegration policies. Serebrian noted that the authorities would promote coherent policies, in order to reestablish the single national spaces (customs, fiscal, economic, educational, etc.) and carry out the actions on the protection of the fundamental human rights and freedoms in the Transnistrian perimeter.       

The Moldovan official offered thanks for the consultative and informative support provided by the EUBAM Mission on aspects concerning the Transnistria-related issues, including through the delivery of periodical reports on activity and topic-related analyses, by setting forth interest to have technical visions, from the perspective of the European Union, on aspects regarding the steps which can be undertaken for the full reintegration of the business activity from the Transnistrian region into the single economic and commercial area.     

Proceeding from the need to strengthen the institutional capacities, Oleg Serebrian showed interest in involving civil servants of the Reintegration Policies Bureau in relevant professional training courses and activities of exchanges of positive experiences with competent institutions from European Union member states.
