Chisinau, 3 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovan diplomacy head, Nicu Popescu, today had a meeting with the ambassadors of the European Union member states accredited in Chisinau, in the context of the first anniversary of the submission of the application on Moldova’s accession to EU, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.

„In the beginning of the meeting, we reviewed the principal achievements of Moldova in the last year and I thanked the European partners for the support provided to Moldova in its aspiration to become EU member.

I also informed the EU ambassadors about the progress made on the segment of implementation of those nine recommendations of the European Commission and the aligning with the EU acquis.

I stressed the fact that the accession to the European Union represented the best way of ensuring peace, stability and prosperity.

In this context, we also discussed the preparations for the summit of the European Political Community, due in Moldova in next June, being a proof of the country’s firm commitment to back the common goal of a peaceful and stable Europe,’’ the Moldovan official said.
