Block No 3 of Termoelectrica enterprise of Moldova brought into service

Chisinau, 7 March /MOLDPRES/ - The energy block No 3 of the Termoelectrica heating supply enterprise has been brought into service, after a period of four months, when it was ceased. The enterprise made statements to this effect today.  

More works were carried out on the period of the energy block’s standing, included the repeated capital repair, re-setting of the system of cooling of the electric generator, project’s coordination, works of supervision and diagnosing the generator.  

„The thermal and hydraulic regime of the system of centralized supply with thermal energy, both on the period of the standing of the energy block, and at present, is ensured in line with the parameters pre-established,’’ reads a press release by Termoelectrica.  

The emergency shutdown of the energy block No 3 took place on 11 November 2022, as a result of the acting of the protections specific for an internal short circuit of the generator. In this case, an external expertise committee was created, which found out that the electric generator No 3 exceeded its normed duration of life by 17 years. The appearance of leakages nearby weld runs between the cooling pipes and the body of the generator was triggered by the corrosion and tiredness of the metal of which the generator’s body is made and the weld runs. There are also other factors, such as the vibration caused by the specific feature of the turbo-generator’s bringing into service.        

Presently, all three energy blocks of Termoelectrica work.
