Chisinau, 8 March /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today came up with a message at a public discussion on the process of Moldova’s accession to the European Union, the presidential press service has reported.
„Moldova’s place is in the European Union, in the family of the free and democratic countries. This is the choice of our citizens, of the courageous and involved women and men from Moldova, who gave a helping hand to the preservation of democracy and to the confirmation of our European integration. The authorities will do their utmost, for our country to quickly advance on this way,’’ the head of state said.
Foreign Affairs Minister Nicu Popescu and more women ministers and state secretaries from European countries, on visit to Moldova, attended the discussion along with President Maia Sandu. The event, organized on the International Women’s Day, brought for discussion the progress recorded in the country’s agenda of accession and women’s role in the modernization and European integration of Moldova.
„We spoke also about the actions we plan to cease the gender violence and give the women more economic opportunities. Our commitment, on 8 March and every day, is to provide a safer and a better living to the women and men from Moldova in their country,’’ President Maia Sandu.
