EU provides consignment of equipment worth over 125,000 euros to Moldova's Audiovisual Council

Chisinau, 9 March /MOLDPRES/ - European Union’s Ambassador to Moldova Jānis Mažeiks today visited the Audiovisual Council (CA), in order to donate to CA 45 computers, 46 UPS devices, 16 laptops, eight monitors, two server computers, as well as 55 licences for various types of software. The overall value of the equipment donated is 125,000 euros.

At the event on the donation’s delivery, Ambassador Jānis Mažeiks said the European Union, through its contribution, aimed to modernize the technical endowment of CA and to enhance implicitly the capacities of the staff in charge of the control of the media audiovisual contents.

The head of the Audiovisual Council, Liliana Vitu, said the donation would increase the efficiency of the regulatory authority, as the monitoring of the audiovisual contents is one of those seven goals established by the CA members for 2023.

The present composition of the Audiovisual Council started its mandate on 16 December 2021 for a six-year period.
