Moldovan PM, UNFPA resident representative in Moldova discuss cabinet's priorities

Chisinau, 14 March /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Resident Representatives of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Moldova Nigina Abaszada have discussed the turning to good account of the key elements of the new country programme of UNFPA, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The officials referred to the main directions of cooperation, in order to promote policies oriented to the demographic well-being, gender equality, integration of the ageing. The officials also discussed aspects regarding the organization of the next census in Moldova.
PM Dorin Recean referred to the constant support of the United Nations Population Fund, provided to Moldova to modernize the medical institutions, create youth centres, provide medical assistance to Ukrainian refugees, promote public policies in the process of the country’s accession to the European Union.
The country programme of UNFPA Moldova for 2023-2027 is set to back women and young people, to fulfill their health and reproductive rights, edify the country’s demographic resilience, through the inter-generation dialogue between young and elderly people and the availability of quality data on the population’s dynamic.
