Energy block No 2 of Termoelectrica heating supply enterprise of Moldova to undergo capital repair

Chisinau, 21 March /MOLDPRES/ - The energy block No 2 from the Termoelectrica heating supply enterprise, which has been working since 1978, will undergo repair works, in order to maintain its functionality and safety in exploitation.    

According to the enterprise, the normative duration of work of the turbine No 2, which is of 220,000 hours, expired and its last repair was carried out in 2016. ‘‘The cycle of capital repair is of 4-5 years; seven years have passed since the last repair of the energy block No 2. The repair is necessary, in order to reestablish the efficiency, through removing all defects detected,’’ reads a press release by Termoelectrica.   

At a today’s news conference, Energy Minister Victor Parlicov said that ‘’it is badly necessary to enter a new heating season with all Termoelectrica’s blocks functional and that efforts will be made for the repair of the Block No 2 to be finished in the terms established.’’

The main works due to be carried out provide for the capital repair of the boiler, change the back screens of the boiler, change of the elements of the principal steam pipe of the energy block no 2, capital repair of the turbine, change of the elements of the high-pressure steam pipes of the turbine No 2, capital repair of the electricity generator, modernization of the system of control of vibration and the mechanic values of the turbo generator No 2.
