U.S. dollar to cheapen against Moldovan leu

Chisinau, 22 March /MOLDPRES/ - The National Bank of Moldova (BNM) has established an official exchange rate of 18.61 lei for one U.S. dollar for 23 March, down by 0.02 lei against today.

At the same time, the single European currency will appreciate by 0.01 leu and will have a quotation of 20.09 lei. The value of the Romanian leu will stay unchanged, at 4.08 lei.

The Ukrainian hryvnia will continue to cost 0.50 lei and the Russian rouble will preserve its value of 0.24 lei.

According to the data presented by BNM, in last February, the Moldovan leu appreciated, at average values, by 1.3 per cent against the American dollar, up to 18.79 lei for one dollar, against 19.04 lei in January this year.
