Germany to continue backing Moldova in European integration, implementing reforms for citizens' benefit

Chisinau, 22 March /MOLDPRES/ - Germany will contribute to the enhancement of Moldova’s resilience and will continue providing the support needed for the fulfillment of the initiatives for the citizens’ benefit. At a meeting with Ambassador of Germany to Moldova Margret Uebber, Prime Minister Dorin Recean appreciated the constant support provided by Germany in key fields for the country’s development, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.   

„We firmly fulfill our strategic goal – the one to advance on our way of accession to EU and we want the people to regard the European Union not only from the viewpoint of the benefits, but also through the light of the democratic values and principles which we share,’’ PM Dorin Recean said.  

The officials noted that the Moldovan-German economic potential needed to be turned to good account. The sides also stressed the importance of continuously informing business people from Germany about the benefits Moldova was providing to foreign investors.

PM Dorin Recean Ambassador Margret Uebber referred also to the sustained efforts within the Moldova Support Platform – a joint initiative of France, Germany and Romania, within which Germany manages the working group on refugees. The officials highlighted the importance to implement the temporary protection mechanism, stressing the need to integrate the refugees who settled in Moldova and to give them access to the labour market, education, health and social insurances services.
