Chisinau, 29 March /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament will consider a legislative initiative which sees the delimiting of the powers of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office (PA) and the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA) at the investigation of the high-level corruption. Today, the members of the parliamentary commission for national security, defence and public order approved the co-report on this draft law.

Thus, the draft’s authors suggest that the office of criminal investigation for the high-level corruption should be exercised by the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office. At the same time, the National Anticorruption Centre will investigate the cases of systemic corruption, while the small corruption will be investigated by the Interior Ministry’s (MAI) criminal prosecution body.

More exactly, the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office will exercise the criminal prosecution in cases committed by the Moldovan president, MPs, cabinet members, judges, prosecutors, CNA employees, leadership of the Intelligence and Security Service and intelligence and security officers.

The draft law ensures the implementation of the conditions from the action plan for the implementation of the measures proposed by the European Commission in its Notification on the application of Moldova’s accession to EU, as well as of the memorandum on the economic and financial policies, concluded with the International monetary Fund.
