Energocom stock company of Moldova, MGRES power station sign six-month contract for electric energy supply

Chisinau, 31 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Energocom stock company has signed a new contract, for a half year, on the purchasing of electric energy from the Moldovan Power Plant from the Transnistrian region (MGRES). The price is 66 dollars/MWh, which is by seven dollars less against the last four months.

According to the schedules agreed upon, about 282,000 MWh is to be bought from MGRES monthly, which accounts for 90 per cent of the necessary amount of electric energy on the right bank of Dniester.   

„The contract will allow us providing the end consumers with electric energy and the stable work of the energy sector. Also, the duration of six months of the contract ensures a higher degree of stability and predictability,’’ Energy Minister Victor Parlicov said.  

Also, in next April, Energocom will purchase electricity worth about 17,400 MWh from the Nuclearelectrica stock company of Romania, which is equivalent to 5.5 per cent of the needs. If necessary, in peak hours, the enterprise can buy energy from the OPCOM Romanian exchange.  

The contract on the delivery of electric energy, signed with MGRES, has been earlier extended more times.
