Moldova's delegation to Eurovision song contest leaves for Liverpool

Chisinau, 27 April /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, Pasha Parfeni, along with his team, will leave for Liverpool, the United Kingdom, on 29 April, where the great musical competition will be held.     

According to the Moldovan National Television, Pasha Parfeni is accompanied by lyricist Yuliana Parfeni and panpipe player Sergiu Bors. At a today’s news conference, singer Pasha Parfeni said that, in fact, he relied on the support of Moldovans from everywhere, especially on the Diaspora, at the Eurovision Song Contest, due to be held in next May. Moldova’s representative noted that the result achieved by him at the contest depended namely on the Moldovan fellow countrymen from abroad.     

On stage in Liverpool, Pasha Parfeni will sing the song, Soarele și Luna (The Sun and the Moon), with which he won the national final in Chisinau. Parfeni will sing with No 10 at the first semifinal on 9 May. Before leaving for the contest, Pasha Parfeni made a tour to Spain, Poland, the Netherlands, United Kingdom and Israel.   

The great final will place at the Arena Liverpool on 13 May. The semifinals will be held on 9 and 11 May.  

Moldova has been participating in the contest since 2005, when it ranked sixth, after the performance on stage by the Zdob si Zdub band with the song, Grandma Play the Drum. Moldova had the best result in 2017, when the SunStroke Project band got on the third position with the song, Hey Mamma.
