Nine libraries from Moldova receive technical equipment on behalf of United States

Chisinau, 28 April /MOLDPRES/ - Nine libraries from Moldova today received technical equipment and consumables on behalf of the United States. The institutions received by one set which includes one notebook and licenced operation system, a printer and consumables.
The event was held at the headquarters of the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF). USMF Rector Emil Ceban stressed that the donation was meant for seven university libraries and two medicine colleges.
„The donation is of significant importance for the education and medicine systems. For more years already, we have had a very good relation with the partners from the USA, through the support of the academic mobility and teachers and students. A string of syllabi and cooperation projects were launched. We received assistance and earlier donations of technical equipment and medical literature, for which we thank you. We are grateful for the help provided to libraries of Moldova and we are sure that this will have a positive impact on the scientific and practical activity in the medical sector.’’ Emil Ceban said.
Attending the event, U.S. Ambassador to Moldova Kent Logsdon said that the donation represented a support on behalf of development partners. ‘’This assistance is an example of good Moldovan-American cooperation relations. This is an essential support for students and teachers. The today’s donation represents another element of Moldova’s support for the citizens’ prosperity,’’ Kent Logsdon noted.
The donation is provided by Wilmington East Rotary from the Wilmington city, North Carolina state, with the support of the inter-library partnership North Carolina-Moldova, the bilateral partnership between the North Carolina state and Moldova, World Children’s Fund from Moldova, U.S. Embassy in Moldova and the PHOENIX International Centre for Cooperation & Development.
