Voting process starts in Gagauz-Yeri autonomy, residents elect governor

Chisinau, 30 April /MOLDPRES/ - All polling stations from the Gagauz autonomy opened today at 7:00. The voting process started in most electoral bureaus of the region.
According to the electoral commission from Comrat, over 92,000 citizens with right to vote, registered in the autonomy, are expected to come to vote.
To be valid, not less than a half of the voters registered must cast their ballots at the elections of the bashkan.
At the polling stations of the Gagauz autonomy, citizens can exercise their right to vote with the identity card and the accompanying sheet, which confirms the residence on the area of the polling station. Also, citizens can vote with the temporary identity card and with the staff ID card and the seasoned servicemen – with the military book.
About 90 international observers accredited by the Central Electoral Commission monitor the today’s ballot.
