Ballot can be regarded as valid in Gagauz-Yeri autonomy

Chisinau, 30 April /MOLDPRES/ - All polling stations which were today opened in the Gagauz autonomy for the election of the region’s governor (bashkan), were closed at 21:00, and the votes are to be counted.
According to data by the electoral commission from Comrat, the electoral threshold of 50 per cent was exceeded by the closing of the polling stations and thus, the ballot can be regarded as valid.
For the moment, there is no information on infringements and incidents during the day.
The electoral bodies from the region have started the counting of the votes. The electoral commission from Comrat informed that the results of the elections would be announced on 1 May at 9:00.
