PM says 373 programme for entrepreneurs' support once more concrete step for Moldova's economic development

Chisinau, 2 May /MOLDPRES/ - The opening of new jobs, economic growth and increase of investments, as well as the creation of opportunities for enterprises’ development are the main goals of the new governmental programme for the support of entrepreneurs, 373, launched by Prime Minister Dorin Recean today. The PM referred to the programme’s benefits, which will have a direct impact on the economic development and the improvement of the Moldovan citizens’ living standards, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.        

„The 373 programme is a step towards Moldova’s economic development and the edification of an European economy, in which entrepreneurs have access to resources and support on behalf of the state and the people willing to work have well-paid jobs at home. The opening of jobs is a major priority of Moldova’s government,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said at the launch event.  

The 373 programme is an instrument of financing, through which the government will subsidize the interests on the loans for enterprises’ investment needs. Proceeding from the code of our country, each figure provided for in the programme comes up with a considerable support for the development of business and encouraging investments.    

3 – 3 per cent is the rate of interest on loans in foreign currency – euros and U.S. dollars

7 – 7 per cent is the interest rate on loans in Moldovan lei  

3 – 3 years is maximal grace period for the loans with maturity of up to 7 years.  

Starting from 1 June, through the 373 programme, entrepreneurs will have access to financial resources and more support on behalf of the state.    

„The more successful businesses we have, the richer the country will be, the better the well-being of each of us will be. For instance, today, the interest rate on the medium-term loans in Moldovan lei for legal entities is of 12.9 per cent. Therefore, the entrepreneur will pay only 7 per cent and the government will pay the difference. On the other hand, the interest rate on the medium-term loans in foreign currency for legal entities is 5.5 per cent. Also, the entrepreneur, will pay only 3 per cent and government will subsidize the difference,’’ PM Dorn Recean noted.          

To benefit from advantageous loans, entrepreneurs will have to present an eligible plan of investments at the bank and they must have their own contribution of 10 per cent to the investment programme. The programme provides for the subsidization of loans worth up to 15 million lei or the equivalent sum in foreign currency, for a maximal term of up to 7 years.    

Starting from the next year, the cabinet is set to increase the ceiling of crediting up to 30 million lei, as well as provide guarantees of crediting for the enterprises which do not have enough pledge. Also, grant components are to be provided for specific sectors, as well as the support of businesses launched by young people and women, handicraft producers, development of rural tourism and other fields.     

The 373 programme will be available as of 1 June and is set to strengthen the cooperation between the small- and medium-sized enterprises and other interested sides, in order to create a friendlier ecosystem for the entrepreneurship and economic growth for a prosperous, safe and European Moldova.
