Petrol price drops below threshold of 24 lei per litre

Chisinau, May 3 /MOLDPRES/-Petrol price falls below the threshold of 24 lei per liter. National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) made the statement today, after the diesel price dropped below 20 lei per liter yesterday.

ANRE notes that the downward trend of oil product quotations on the international stock exchanges of the last period continues. In the last session alone, Platts fuel quotes fell by 5%, reaching below $800/ton for petrol and around $650/ton for diesel.

Under these conditions, for tomorrow ANRE has set a maximum price for COR 95 petrol of 23.88 lei, down by 0.17 lei. At the same time, diesel will be sold at a maximum of 19.62 lei per liter.

The new rates were approved "starting from the pricing algorithm based on the average value of Platts quotes for the previous 14 days, correlated to the leu/dollar exchange rate."
