Parliament speaker welcomes new Ambassador the Netherlands to Moldova

Chisinau, 3 May /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has had a meeting with new Ambassador of the Netherlands to Moldova Fred Duijn, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The parliament speaker welcomed the Dutch diplomat. He noted that ‘’the opening of an embassy in Chisinau will play an important role in the promotion of the economic, commercial and cultural relations between Moldova and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.’’
The officials also discussed the parliament’s priorities, the reforms underway in the justice and economy sectors, as well as the challenges Moldova was facing nationally and regionally.
The parliament speaker referred also to the progress made in the implementation of those nine recommendations of the European Commission, in the context of the giving of the status of candidate for accession to the European Union.
„We do our utmost to get the status of full-fledged member of the European Union as quickly as possible and we rely on the support of the Netherlands in this approach,’’ Speaker Igor Grosu said.
