Over 5,000 children to receive hygiene kits in Moldova

Chisinau, 5 May /MOLDPRES/ - More than 5,000 children with disabilities will receive hygiene kits. The assets will be provided by the Public Association, Solidarités International. A memorandum on the matter today was signed by Labour and Social Protection Minister Alexei Buzu and the Association’s manager, Serge Gruel.       

The memorandum will be implemented during one year and sees the providing of humanitarian assistance to socially vulnerable people from Moldova. The first action of the memorandum is aimed at backing children with severe disabilities. Thus, over 5,000 kits with personal hygiene products, detergents, disinfectants and other household products, worth 178,000 euros in all, will be provided to families whose members are children with severe disabilities.       

The hygiene kits will be distributed through the territorial structures of social assistance and the beneficiaries will be children with severe disabilities aged up to 18 years, from all Moldovan districts. Over 5,000 children from the aforementioned category have already registered at present, according to data by the Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MMPS).   

The humanitarian assistance will be provided, in order to help vulnerable families to cope with the high prices, triggered by the high inflation and the increase in the energy tariffs.
