Moldovan PM says qualitative, efficient public service to be edified together

Chisinau, 5 May /MOLDPRES/ - The dialogue between the cabinet and the local public authorities continues on the platform of the parity commission for decentralization, in order to identify the best solutions to problems locally. The commission’s members convened at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Dorin Recean, to discuss the activity of the working groups and the cooperation between the central and local public authorities, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.       

PM Dorin Recean reiterated the government’s openness for improving the administrative processes. ‘’It is important for us to edify the public service, so that it is qualitative for citizens, as well as efficient from the viewpoint of administration. I urge you to make a team, to align our goals and cooperate as much as possible, in order to provide people with quality services,’’ the prime minister said.  

According to Government’s Secretary General Artur Mija, on the next period, the central and local authorities will collaborate, in order to give final touches to the documents needed for the implementation of the strategy of reform of the public administration for 2023-2030. Also, decision-makers are to consult and promote the regulation on the selective delimitation of the state-owned real estate.   

As for the activity of the working groups, the sides pointed out the discussions on the dimension of the environment, which regarded the management of water resources and the lands for afforestation. As for the education sector, the working group discussed subjects on the nourishment in schools, financing of the primary school, as well as the delimiting of powers in the education field between the central and local public administration.     

The working group for local infrastructure and heritage brought for discussion changes to the code of urbanism and constructions, code of road transport and the benefits brought by the Express European Village National Programme – the first note of concept for this programme being already submitted by the Ungheni city hall.    

The participants in the meeting also tackled subjects on the motivation of civil servants locally, financial decentralization, exploitation of taxes for natural resources. The local public administration’s representatives appreciated the results achieved on the platform of the sectoral working groups, stressing that their work would bring value added to the citizens from all Moldova’s settlements.
