French President - first to confirm attendance at Summit

Chisinau, May 6. /MOLDPRES/- French President Emmanuel Macron was the first to confirm his presence at the European Political Community Summit, hosted by Moldova on June 1, 2023. Emmanuel Macron is also the one who came up with the initiative to create the European Political Community in May 2022, shortly after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

So far, 40 European officials have confirmed that they will participate in the event organized for the first time in our country. Among them are President of Romania Klaus Iohannis, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, Prime Minister of Great Britain Rishi Sunak, Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni, the Head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, Chancellor of Austria Karl Nehammer, Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen, Prime Minister of Belgium Alexander De Croo, Prime Minister of Estonia Kaja Kallas, Head of the Cabinet of Ministers of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola.

The event will be held on June 1 in Bulboaca, Anenii Noi district. It will bring together around 50 European heads of state and government and European Union officials.
