Moldovan education ministry says academic year to end on 30 May

Chisinau, 8 May /MOLDPRES/ - The second half of the 2022-2023 academic year will end on 30 May 2023. Education and Research Minister Anatolie Topala has signed an order to this effect.

Thus, the solemn festivity dedicated to the ending of the school year will be held on 30 May starting from 8:30.

According to the Education and Research Ministry (MEC), the education institutions will finish all educational activities planned till 30 May 2023.

Following the Last Bell festivity, the pupils of the 8th , 10th and 11th forms will go on vacation. At the same time, the pupils of the 9th and 12th forms will take the school-leaving exams in gymnasiums and lyceums.

The decision on the finishing of the school year on 30 May has been earlier announced by the authorities, given the preparations for the Summit of the European Political Community, due to be hosted by Moldova on 1 June. At the same time, the Labour and Social Protection Ministry will come up with an initiative to declare 1 June as day off and 2 June – as day off for the public sector.
