Moldovan parliament speaker takes part in ceremony on commemorating World War II victims

Chisinau, 9 May /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, along with President Maia Sandu and Prime Minister Dorin Recean and other MPs, have laid flowers at the Eternity Memorial Complex from Chisinau, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

„Today, on 9 May, we commemorate the heroes, the grandfathers, who fought, so that we, after 78 years, live in peace,’’ Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu said.

In his message, the speaker noted that, unfortunately, the lessons of the Second World War had not been learned: ‘’Today, we witness a devastating war in Europe, after Russia attacked Ukraine. On this day, more than ever, I want to be peace and let us think about the future of our children. They should not sacrifice their dreams and lives, they must live in a free and united world.’’
