Moldovan president hands Order of Honour to director of USAID Mission

Chisinau, 9 May /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today met the director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Moldova. On the occasion of the end of the mandate of Scott Hocklander, the head of state expressed appreciation for USAID’s assistance provided to Moldova for the management of the energy, refugees’ crises and the economic one, the presidential press service has reported.

The Moldovan president thanked for the additional assistance recently announced by the American government, worth 300 million dollars, for the backing of the process of consolidation of the economic resilience and energy independence of Moldova.

Scott Hocklander was awarded the distinction Order of Honour, under presidential decree, as a token of high appreciation for the personal contribution brought to the strengthening of the Moldovan-American friendship and good cooperation relations.
