Chisinau, May 10. /MOLDPRES/- For any country, the problems faced by the infrastructure are related to the investment requirement. This is what Moldova needs for the development of transport infrastructure, for connectivity with the European market, according to Adina Vălean, European Commissioner for Transport, who held a press conference in Chisinau last night.

"In this context, the European Union has generous projects and wants to further help Moldova. On the other hand, in the perspective of its European integration, there will be more changes and adaptations of European regulations, which will bring more pluses, a coherence of policies between Moldova and the EU, so it is something positive. We are committed together with our colleagues from the European Transport Community, to help Moldova as much as possible on this path of legislative alignment, writing projects, implementing them, finding the best sources of funding", said the European official.

Moldova needs an efficient transport network, both rail and road, because the success of the other branches of the economy is largely dependent on this sector.

Adina Vălean visited Chişinău yesterday, and attended the signing of the Agreement on Connecting Europe Facility (CEF). Thus, Moldova became the first non-EU country to join CEF - the most important instrument for infrastructure projects in the EU.
