Moldovan security authorities to organize general rehearsal to ensure good holding of Summit of European Political Community

Chisinau, 10 May /MOLDPRES/ - The authorities in charge of the security of the Summit of the European Political Community (EPC Summit) will organize a general rehearsal for a good carrying out of the international event due on 1 June. The rehearsal will be held on 14 May starting from 9:00 and will last five hours.   

According to the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), security perimeters will be established in the central area of Chisinau. At the same time, temporary traffic restrictions will be applied on the main thoroughfares in the Centru and Botanica districts of the Moldovan capital, as long as the official columns move to the settlement where the Summit is organized. Also, traffic limitings will be on the roads Bulboaca-Chisinau and back.    

The goal of the general simulation due on 14 May is to improve the work and the cooperation at the inter-institutional level, as well as to verify the integrated security concept. At the same time, they suggest the learning by the forces participating in the security missions of the way of solving tactical situations.   

The residents will be informed about the activities taking place during the Summit. In this respect, competent authorities published information and maps with alternative routes recommended, in order to avoid agglomerations and facilitate the movement in Chisinau in the adjacent areas.    

The police call on drivers to prove understanding for eventual difficulties in traffic. Also, most advisable is that the citizens plan in advance the route of movement for 14 May during 9:00-14:00, access roads adjacent to the Chisinau International Airport, avoid the principal thoroughfares of the capital, as well as the movement on the road Chisinau-Bulboaca and back in this time interval.   

Also, given the trainings, the citizens are informed about possible delays and agglomerations in the road traffic in the centre of Chisinau and the adjacent areas.  

The EPC Summit will take place in the Bulboaca settlement, central Anenii Noi district, on 1 June. The event will bring together about 50 heads of state and government from Europe and European Union officials.
