Moldova joins EU Customs Programme

Chisinau, May 11 /MOLDPRES/- Parliament ratified today an agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union on the country's accession to the EU Customs Programme - cooperation in the field of customs.

The document aims to strengthen the cooperation relations between the Customs Service of Moldova and the customs authorities of the EU member states, in the context of the country's European integration commitments, as well as to boost the cooperation with the customs authorities of other signatory countries.

Among the cooperation actions are the strengthening of administrative and IT capacity, the development and operation of European electronic systems, the implementation of innovations in the customs policy.

The first equipment has already been delivered, which will ensure the connection between the national and European fiscal systems.
