Chisinau, 14 May /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament building is presented in a painting and graphic exhibition by students architects, titled, Parliament – in young people’s perception. The exhibition shows, in an original way, the architecture of the parliament building; the architectural and cultural value of the building is rendered by children in a harmonious symbiosis between the present and future, with inspirations from the past.

The exhibition has 20 works by students from the Urbanism and Architecture Faculty of the Moldovan Technical University (UTM). The students, guided by teacher Mariana Hadji-Bandalac, during six weeks analyzed diverse informative materials and sketches of the parliament building, which represented a source of inspiration for their original works.

The head of the UTM Architecture Department, Angela Munteanu, stressed that the students, along with their teachers, had managed to make exceptional works, dedicated to the parliament’s building.

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu said that the young people’s works impressed. He noted that the institution would continue encouraging the gifted young people and to give them opportunity to present their works in parliament. ‘’These are works which express, through combinations of pictures, fragments from the history of the building and some future architects even imagine how the parliament building might look in 2041. For some young people, the parliament building represents the headquarters for the supreme representative body and the country’s sole legislative authority, while for the others, it means Motherland and symbol which describes Moldova, while in the opinion of other people, it means harmony, power, home, prosperity,’’ the parliament speaker said.

The exhibition, organized on the occasion of the Parliament Day, annually marked on 23 May, will be opened till the end of this month.
