Chisinau, 16 May /MOLDPRES/ - The finishing of the projects on water and sewerage supply and on energy efficiency at the Mihai Eminescu Theoretical Lyceum from the western Ungheni city was the subject of a today’s meeting. The participants in the event summed up the outcome of the two programmes, financed by the European Union through the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and implemented by the Centru Regional Development Agency (ADR).

Both projects were successfully implemented and brought significant benefits to the community from Ungheni. Through the EU’s financing and support provided by GIZ, improvements in infrastructure and services were made, contributing to the improvement of the living standards of the residents and to the region’s sustainable development. ADR Centru played an essential role in the implementation and monitoring of projects, ensuring transparency and efficiency in the use of the European funds,’’ sources from ADR Centru said.

Through the finishing of these projects, emphasis is put on the local authorities’ commitment to invest in the sustainable development and well-being of the community. ‘’The Ungheni city now enjoys quality water and sewerage supply services and the Mihai Eminescu Theoretical lyceum benefits from improved conditions of education and work for about 1,200 pupils and over 100 teachers,’’ according to the quoted source.

These projects represent a concrete example of the support provided by the European Union for the sustainable development of the regions and improvement of the residents’ quality of life, ADR Centru added.
