Chisinau, May 17 /MOLDPRES/- The modernization of the hospital infrastructure, the equipping of medical institutions with new equipment, but also the training of medical workers abroad were the main topics of discussion between Prime Minister Dorin Recean, Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco and the administrators of the medical centers in the country, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

Constraints encountered at the local level in ensuring quality medical services for citizens and access to pharmaceutical products were highlighted at the meeting. They also talked about the need to strengthen partnerships with states that are an example of good practice in developing the medical sector, as well as intensifying the circuit of medical personnel and the large-scale use of experience exchanges with European countries.

The Minister of Health referred to the importance of creating a synergy between human resources and the technical component in hospitals. Ala Nemerenco also spoke about the motivational policies needed to keep young professionals in the institutions, including by creating modern working conditions, by providing the latest equipment.

Recean pointed out the need to give medical staff the opportunity to grow professionally, while increasing the population's access to the widest possible spectrum of medical services.

"We continue to develop and implement coherent and urgent public health policies, strengthen specialized medical services for diagnosis and treatment, but also make it easier for citizens to access quality medical services. The status of a candidate country means new opportunities and resources, including for the modernization of the medical infrastructure and the support of medical personnel", he said.
