Chisinau, May 24. /MOLDPRES/- This year, the separation of the operator of the gas transport system will be completed, a process initiated in 2011 and not yet completed. At the same time, the EU regulation governing the monitoring of the integrity and transparency of the wholesale energy market (known as REMIT) will be transposed, one of the main objectives being the prevention of market manipulation actions.

The issues were discussed in Brussels by the delegation led by Minister of Energy Victor Parlicov with leadership of the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSO-G). Thus, the operators of the transport system will exchange operational data, to be published on the transparency platform of ENTSO-G.

The regulation (REMIT) began to be implemented by the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) this February. From March until now, ANRE has registered five companies participating in the wholesale gas market.

"This time we are determined to implement, without further justifications and delays, the commitments made to separate the second transmission system operator and liberalize the gas market", Parlicov said.

During the discussion with the management of ENTSO-G, the issues of transport infrastructure and gas storage were also addressed in order to prepare for the next cold season.

Also, the delegation of the Republic of Moldova held a similar dialogue on the electricity side, with the management of ENTSO-E and the Energy Community Secretariat. The subjects addressed at the meeting were energy interconnection projects, along with the allocation of commercial capacities based on a fair and equitable mechanism, the improvement of the regulatory framework related to the balancing market and the observer status of the Moldelectrica company at ENTSO-E.

The leadership of the Ministry of Energy, the companies in the sector, representatives of ANRE and several deputies were in Brussels on May 22-23 to participate in the fourth meeting, high-level dialogue on energy the European Union -  Moldova.
