Moldova joins reform of UN development system

Chisinau, May 25. /MOLDPRES/- Parliament ratified today the Agreement on mutatis mutandis application of the Agreement between the Government and UNDP the UN Resident Coordinator and his Office in the Republic of Moldova.

The document also provides for the separation of the position of UN Resident Coordinator from that of the Representative of the UNDP. Therefore, the role and authority of the UN Resident Coordinator as the highest-ranking UN official at country level responsible for coordinating the work of the country team in the implementation of the UN Development Assistance Framework will be strengthened.

The UN Secretary General appointed the first UN Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Moldova on October 1, 2019.
