Anti-corruption officers, prosecutors raided in Edineț

Chisinau, May 25. /MOLDPRES/- The National Anticorruption Center /CNA/ and the anticorruption prosecutors today conducted searches in Edineț on six new criminal cases concerning the bribes for the issuance of driving licenses.

According to the CNA, eight searches were carried out today in Edineț by the officers of the North Territorial General Directorate of the CNA and the prosecutors from the North office of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office, on six new criminal cases concerning the bribes received for the issuance of driving licenses. Six persons, suspected of having intermediated the receipt and transmission of financial means to those in charge of the Transport Registration and Driver Qualification Section of Edineț.

Thus, as part of the criminal investigation actions, carried out at the homes and in the cars of the suspects, draft documents with the identity data of the candidates, schooling certificates and financial means were picked up, which were voluntarily handed over to the CNA officers. 

Currently, CNA officers and prosecutors manage 12 criminal cases on acts of corruption committed by employees of the Transport Registration and Driver Qualification Section of the Public Services Agency. Several officials and intermediate persons from the north of the country are being investigated for the implementation of a scheme to claim illicit financial means from people applying for driving licenses.
