Moldova's State Protection and Guard Service to have right of polygraph testing

Chisinau, 25 May /MOLDPRES/ - The State Protection and Guard Service (SPPS) might have right to initiate and carry out the polygraph testing. The parliament adopted a draft law to this effect in the first reading today.

The legislative initiative belongs to the MPs of the Action and Solidarity Party’s (PAS) parliamentary faction, Andrian Cheptonar and Oazu Nantoi, and was worked out, in order to adjust the provisions of the Law on the enforcement of the polygraph testing to the ones of the Law on the State Protection and Guard Service.

The polygraph testing will be made by a specialist attested by SPPS, with the observance of the stipulations of the legal framework in the field.

Presently, under the legislation’s provisions, the Superior Council of Magistracy, Superior Council of Prosecutors, the Interior Ministry’s bodies, the National Anticorruption Centre, Intelligence and Security Service and Customs Service have right to initiate the polygraph testing.
