Price of gas purchased from Russia to be 568 dollars for 1,000 cubic metres in Moldova in June

Chisinau, 1 June /MOLDPRES/ - The price of the natural gas purchased by Moldovagaz from Gazprom will be of 568.15 dollars for 1,000 cubic metres of gas in June, against 660.76 dollars in May. Moldovagaz director Vadim Ceban today made statements to this effect.

„All quantity of gas bought from Gazprom in last April will be directed to Tiraspoltransgaz,’’ Ceban said.

In last May, the price of the gas procured from Gazprom was of 660.76 dollars for 1,000 cubic metres; in April – the gas cost 673 dollars, in March 2023 – 1,011 dollars, in February – 1,054 dollars and in January – 1,230 dollars for 1,000 cubic meres.

Under the contract signed in October 2021, the price of the gas purchased by Moldovagaz from Gazprom is calculated in different ways during winter and in summer.

This week, the price of natural gas in Europe was at the lowest level in the last two years, getting down to about 300 dollars per 1,000 cubic metres, given that the demand of gas was diminished by a record production of photovoltaic energy in Germany.
