Ukraine's president: We need security, stability. Time is ripe for firm decisions

Chisinau, 1 June /MOLDPRES/ - Time is ripe for firm decisions; we cannot have doubts about our unity. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has made statements to this effect at the opening of the plenary meeting of the Summit of the European Political Community (EPC Summit).  

„We cannot have doubts as to our unity. Here, in Moldova, we do not hear sirens or fires of the Russian artillery, but not so long ago, the Russians were sure that after they had attacked Ukraine, they would be able to reach Moldova too. Russia is afraid of the NATO and tries to swallow only those who are outside the area of the Alliance. Ukraine is open and we have a plan for peace; we speak about the importance of the NATO. All countries which have borders with Russia must ally. The Ukrainians who promote the European values with blood are expecting an answer in terms of accession. On behalf of the soldiers and the people who fight, I would like to say that time is ripe for decisions. Peace is needed in Europe,’’ Zelenskyy said.     

The Ukrainian president added that his fellow countrymen were expecting answers also as regards the accession to the NATO, but these answers do not come.
