Chisinau, June 2. /MOLDPRES/- The Summit of the European Political Community (EPC), held yesterday in our country is an important signal sent by all EU countries through which it was loudly said that the Republic of Moldova is so important for Europe. Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala made the statement today in Chisinau.

“Thank you for hosting this Summit with great success. It was a very important event for the whole of Europe. It is significant that this Summit took place specifically here, in the Republic of Moldova, a country that is also exposed to threats of Russian aggression. It was not easy at all to organize an event of such magnitude. You managed to manage the event very successfully. We, from the Czech Republic, give you all the support to face the threats related to the Russian aggression in Ukraine", said Petr Fiala.

The Prime Minister of the Czech Republic also stated that the reform process that the Republic of Moldova must go through is a comprehensive one and there are criteria that must be met, and "at this moment the EU should open the door as wide as possible for these efforts". "Nobody expects everything to be absolutely perfect from the start, but of course as you move towards the EU, you will have to take concrete steps for all reforms," said Petr Fiala.

At the same time, the official appreciated that the bilateral relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Czech Republic are becoming stronger and assured that his country will continue to take concrete steps to help Moldova in its European integration process.

"We support all the efforts of the Republic of Moldova directed towards the implementation of reforms. We understand that it is not an easy process. We have quite intense bilateral relations in various fields and we will continue to deepen this cooperation. Czech companies are well equipped to help the Republic of Moldova modernize its defense forces. We know that Moldova is now on the way to modernize the field of defense and security. A new radar is to be installed to monitor the airspace of the Republic of Moldova. In August, we will open a new office for a military attaché of the Czech Republic in Moldova in order to deepen bilateral cooperation in the field of defense", the Czech Prime Minister said.

Petr Fiala arrived in Chisinau yesterday to participate in the EPC Summit, hosted for the first time by our country.
