Chisinau, 8 June /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean today participated in a ceremony on the delivery of six mobile offices, donated to the Customs Service by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Attending the event were the deputy head of the Mission of the U.S. Embassy in Chisinau, Laura Hruby, the head of the Customs Service, Igor Talmazan, the head of the Border Police, Rosian Vasiloi, as well as residents from the region, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The border crossing point Leova-Bumbata, made jointly by the governments of Moldova and Romania, is open for the international movement on the Moldovan-Romanian segment and contributes to the easing of the cross-border traffic for people and transport means.
„The international border checkpoint will become a centre of transit and will attract investments for the local communities, thus generating new jobs. We are grateful to the American partners for the support provided to carry out this project and for the endowment of the modern mobile offices. We will continue, along with the Bucharest authorities, to extend the projects on interconnection of the road, railway infrastructure the communications and the energy one,’’ PM Dorin Recean said.
The mobile offices were equipped with the support of USAID, through the Institutional and structural reforms in Moldova programme.

This border crossing point creates new economic opportunities, facilitates the trade both for Moldova and for Romania, as well as brings Moldova closer to the European Union,‘’ the deputy head of the Mission of the U.S. Embassy in Chisinau, Laura Hruby, said.
The mobile offices are insulated phonically and thermally, have a good indoors illumination and electrification system, which allows easily connecting to the network. The interior is arranged with four working places in format of desk, fully endowed with furniture and equipment needed, such as computers, printers, safes, as well as air conditioners and fridges.
The border crossing point Leova-Bumbata provides qualitative services to about 800,000 citizens from more neighbour districts, including Leova, Cantemir, Hancesti, Cimislia, UTA Gagauzia, Basarabeasca, Causeni, Ialoveni, Anenii Noi and Stefan Voda and is a new ways of access to Romania and EU area.
