Chisinau, Feb. 13 /MOLDPRES/- Today Speaker Igor Grosu had a meeting with Special Representative on Eastern Europe Kristian Vigenin, on a visit to our country, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.

Grosu pointed out that Moldova's authorities continue to rely on the experience and expertise of our partners for free and fair elections. "We are investing in strengthening the capacities of institutions such as CEC, CCA and the Center for Strategic Communication and Combating Disinformation. In the local elections of 2023, the Russian Federation jointly with criminal groups tried to compromise the polls by corrupting voters and propaganda, but the voice of the citizens was stronger and the pro-European parties won", he said.

He reviewed the precarious situation of human rights in the districts to the left of the Dniester. "We need a more active involvement of the OSCE Mission in this regard," he said.

Kristian Vigenin will talk to president of the foreign policy and European integration commission Ina Coșeru, head of the national security, defense and public order commission Lilian Carp, head of the parliamentary delegation at the OSCE PA Veronica Roșca, as well as members of the Communists and Socialists Bloc faction.
