Moldovan government approves new mechanism of coordinating process of accession to EU, way of organization, work of negotiating team

Chisinau, 13 March /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers has approved a new mechanism of coordination of the process of Moldova’s accession to EU, as well as the way of organization and work of the negotiating team. The government decision establishes an updated framework for coordinating the accession to EU and presents the way of organization and work of the negotiating team.
The negotiating team is made up of: deputy prime minister for European integration/chief negotiator, deputy chief negotiator, government’s secretary general, the state secretary of the government for European integration, the head of the Bureau for European Integration, the head of the Centre for Adjusting the Legislation, the representative of the National Bank of Moldova, of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, of the Economic Development and Digitalization Ministry, of the Finance Ministry, of the Environment Ministry, of the Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry, the ambassador, head of Moldova’s Mission at the European Union and national experts.
The list will be able to be completed also with people outside the public service, specialists from the academic and research environment, representatives of the business environment, of the civil society, who have the expertise needed for the organization and leadership of the negotiations with EU.
The negotiating team will prepare and submit the government reports on the stage of negotiations following each meeting of the inter-governmental conference between Moldova and the European Union, as well as special reports, at the cabinet’s request. At the same time, during all stages of negotiation, the parliament will be informed about the march and evolution of the negotiations on accession.
