Chisinau, 16 May /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean has had a meeting with President of the Czech Republic’s Senate Miloš Vystrčil, on a visit to Moldova. The officials discussed the support provided by the Czech Republic to the European integration way of Moldova, the regional security and the business opportunities provided by Moldova, the government’s communication department reported.

The PM thanked the Czech side for the clear sign of political support of Moldova’s European perspective, manifested through the last December vote on Moldova’s qualification for the starting of the negotiations on accession to EU.

„A wider Europe means a more secure and more prosperous Europe. Moldova will do its homework, will not look for shortcuts: we carry out the justice reform, fight against corruption, we ensure the enforcement of the law. Our goal is to become EU’s contributor member and EU should see an opportunity in Moldova, both from the economic viewpoint and from the point of view of security,’’ Dorin Recean said.

In the context, the president of the Czech Republic Senate said that Moldova’s European integration was a common interest of EU, the Czech Republic and Moldova. ‘’EU must as soon as possible find courage for extension for countries which have such a rich and precious experience as the one of Moldova,’’ Miloš Vystrčil. He pointed out the Czech Republic’s experience of accession from 20 years ago.

The officials referred also to the Moldovan-Czech cooperation in various sectors – public health, agriculture, education and culture. The prime minister welcomed the presence of Czech companies on the Moldovan market and, at the same time, emphasized the opportunities from the sectors of IT, energy, electronics, pharmaceutics, etc. ‘’We have talent, innovation and we need partners who come are with long-term capital,’’ PM Dorin Recean noted.

Other subjects tackled at the meeting touched upon the regional security and the need to ensure a safe information space, without propaganda and falsehoods.
