
Moldovan historian released children's book
Chisinau, 8 April /MOLDPRES/- The National Library for Children Ion Creanga launched yesterday at an online event of the Literary-Artistic Salon La Creanga the book - Tears of the god Ra (Lacrimile zeului Ra) by historian Andrei Prohin, illustrated by Alex Dimitrov.
It includes several curiosities from the universal history and the history of the Romanians, described in an attractive and accessible way for children. The author said he wrote this book to boost students' interest in history, familiarizing them with various events, personalities and myths, starting with prehistoric times and until the middle of the twentieth century.
The book comprises 200 pages and has appeared in 500 copies. It was published with the support of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research and can be found in several public libraries in the country.Andrei Prohin is PhD in history, scientific researcher, graduate of the Faculty of History and Philosophy of the State University of Moldova. He was a teacher of history at Nicolae Iorga high school, then university lecturer at the State University of Moldova and the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts.
He is currently the scientific secretary of the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History.
He has published history and ethnography studies in relevant magazines in Moldova, Romania and Bulgaria.
